Thanks for reading my bio!
I am the third of six children (3 boys/3 girls--"a Black Brady Bunch" some would say). Growing up, we made many trips to the library for school and leisure. Summer reading programs were the best! My siblings and I were enrolled in gifted and talented programs through high school. Fortunately, we were exposed to art, literature, and culture in a variety of ways. My mother, Regena V. Thomas, RN, was a force of nature who insisted that we accept nothing less than excellence--so we did. I am reminded by all of them everyday that life is full of possibility. If you knew our story, then you would know what a difference love and education can make in the lives of children.
I hold a B.S. in Sports Management and I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer. I also publish two blogs. My author's blog is Raychelle Writes http://www.Raychelle-Writes.blogspot.com . There I like to share my work and promote my fellow authors, illustrators, and other literary folk. Journeys Fitness is the second blog http://www.journeysfit.blogspot.com where I write on a variety of health and wellness topics.
In addition to writing and illustrating my books, I design greeting cards
http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/raychellescardstore and do some freelance writing.
Writing helps me to express my creativity and share what I know and learn as I grow. Some of my current obsessions are urban gardening, interior design, and cooking. I have a lot of interests and I pursue them all, so sue me.
I am married. I have one daughter whom I homeschool and two step-children. In life, I try to always be found helping somebody. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
